45' Don Smith is built to military specifications and is virtually indestructible. She has a shallow draft of 28". She cruises at 40 mph and tops out at 48 mph with a full fuel load. She has accommodations for two to overnight. She can run at 40 mph into 4' seas and not pound thanks to her length, beam, center of gravity, and massive 21"x40" tabs. There's nothing like it. She'll pull a 29' Chris Craft off a sandbar and then pull it home on plane. She can take 20 people to dinner and chase billfish the next morning.
