The Hans Christian Independence 45 Trawler is an attractive Taiwan-built yacht equipped with a sturdy raised pilothouse that provides excellent visibility for serious mariners who enjoy the art of cruising! With an overall length of 45 feet, this vessel has a semi-displacement fiberglass hull, moderate beam, and hard aft chines designed to reduce roll on the water. Powered by a Ford Lehman SP355 inboard diesel engine with 355 HP, this vessel ensures a reliable cruising speed of 8 knots and a maximum speed of 10 knots, well-suited for leisurely explorations. This elegant trawler features a spacious full-width salon that can accommodate numerous guests, and a large, U-shaped galley. Her two-stateroom, two-head layout provides ample space for relaxation and privacy.

She finally made the journey south in the summer of 2025.
Present owners purchased her five years ago and have continued to maintain her inside and out with a generous open checkbook, Her years in dry storage have kept her interior in pristine condition. Her exterior has faired well. All service records for repairs /improvements are onboard. In January 2026, a fresh bottom paint was applied with no blisters reported. The prop was re-balanced and covered in prop speed. She is equipped with a bow thruster.
SWAN is an ideal loop traveler and liveaboard. There is more than ample storage for all provisions and essentials for long journeys. Owners fuel burn log reports a cruise endurance of 2.5-3 gallons per hour, with a power setting of 1500 RPM's, making 8 knots underway.
