This Fresh Water only Hunter 28 is one of the best designed 28'ers ever, this model Hunter has a full 10'6" in beam which allows a huge interior and lovely wide walkways on the top sides with great footing particularly with the beefy aluminum toe rail and finanlly great stability.
Hard to find a 30'er with a better interior layout given the aft head/shower, large double berth aft and open interior. Coupled with the walk thru transom and swim platform the Hunter 28 is current with new boats on features and should yield good resale for years to come.
A great long term or short term first boat that sails good enough for an experienced sailor to revel in, come get this Hunter 28 and make her yours. She is an able performer. Thus if you drift into club racing at some point you will not be left at the starting gate. Powerful sail plan, but yet still manageable.
Interest can in many cases can still be deducted as a 2nd home, so if you bought the boat with an amount financed, the interest would be deductable on your taxes, making the purchase even more attractive.

With only 28 feet to work with the interior layout of the Hunter 28 uses the space at hand extremely well. A very open feel due to no major bulkhead breaking up the floor space and the 6' 2" headroom, the "U" shaped settee optimizes seating and adds to berthage. The double drop leaf fixed table opens up the interior space with the table collapsed, but when opened up easily seats 4 to 6 adults for dinner. The "V"berth is big enough for 2 reasonalbe size adults, but we suspect you'd enjoy the larger double berth aft even more and let your guest or the youngsters enjoy the "V"berth. Cushions are handsome and in good repair and the teak and holley cabin sole adds to the sense of decent quality and a space that is comfortable to spend time in. Again, the double berth aft is likely the prefered rational place for most couples. The head/shower complete with privacy teak door is to the Starboard aft of the interior and is amazing in its size for a 28' sailboat. The Port aft contains the galley area complete with a deep icebox, storage and stainless steel sink. Overall the interior has a light, airy, and open feel. Really nice.
