The Hunter 170 was designed by the Hunter Design team and produced utilizing the patented ACP process that combines a UV protected plastic with fiberglass mat and injected foam. This means the hull is 5 times more impact resistant than conventional construction as well as unsinkable and almost maintenance free. A wide open cockpit is comfortable for the family or friends. There is even a covered storage area forward to keep gear dry and secure. She's easy to trailer, launch and retrieve. And simple to rig and the best - fun to sail. Her towing weight is only 760 lbs, so she can be transported by a smaller vehicle. Her capacity rating is 6 sailors. The mast is 25'6" long above the waterline and is hinged at the deck for easy, quick raising. Her retractable centerboard and kick up rudder allow her to be beached.
