"Proud Lady" is a well found, Yacht built as follows. Philippine mahogany strip planked hull over oak frames is sheathed in fiberglass. the exterior is epoxy cloth covered and the interior is epoxy resin sealed. Very much like a cold molded hull.
This Schooner is a traditional beauty with modern upgrades throughout. With elegant lines and a shoal draft of just 2'10" (5'6" with centerboard down), she is equally suited for coastal cruising, island hopping, or turning heads at the dock.ith wood cored deck and cabin top. She is in above average condition having been hauled, for winter storage and surveyed in 2025
With a swing keel, 2'10" board up and 6'6" down, and many sail configurations, your cruising grounds have expanded. 'Proud Lady' is a stout, fiberglass yacht that handles well in heavy weather.
The rig may be intimidating to some, but once you 'learn the ropes', sailing a schooner short-handed or single handed can be easier than sailing a sloop of comparable sail area, since, with it's split rig, each of the sails is smaller and easier to manage. No other cruising rig has more flexibility the a schooner.
