1986 Vagabond 47

Step aboard the blue water fantasy of many a sailor.  Holley Day has beautiful lines, she is a staysail two masted ketch with center cockpit, proud bow with a comfortable aft cabin raised quarter deck.  She has it all.  Her full enclosure over the center cockpit will keep you safe, dry, cool and happy at the helm.  Stepping down into the salon, large comfortable seating on both sides, her masterful port armchairs looking starboard to her dinette (fabulous sleeping quarters for overnight guests) Passage on either side of the companion way stairs, Port is the galley that is hard to forget, and Starboard is the tool room, baby berth or gen storage leading to master head.  Aft of Galley and Port locker leads to a full beam master stateroom (headroom of 6' 2").  About face, forward of the solon (headroom 6' 8") on the 47 is her guest head (6-foot headroom) on the starboard, storage on the port, forward leading to the comfortable guest berth (headroom of 6" 4").

Master Stateroom is aft, teak and holly sole with two steps up to a queen berth.(headroom of 6' 2")  Port lights on port, starboard and transom.  Forward in  the master berth is a bulkhead that has a mounted television, fans and reading lights, over head light all are well positioned.  Ensuite head to starboard with a vanity between the hallways. Dressing bench at foot of Queen. Guest berth is all the way forward in the bow.  Guest has plenty of decorative storage lockers, shelving and filler cushion to make the V-Berth to a queen.  The guest head sits behind the second bulkhead counting the anchor locker.  Forward berth has reading lights port lights escape hatch and air circulator. 

A true well-appointed master stateroom with a banquette, two steps up and over personal drawers is a queen adorned with cabinetry, overhead lighting, wall lighting and reading lamps. His and Her's cubbies, warm inviting rich interior with white headliner, overhead lighting shelf space running port and starboard. Stern large glass windows, quarter gallery windows, often reserved for the VIP or officer in ancient times.  This is reminiscent of luxury for a wartime vessel.  Large hanging locker, wall clock, arched doorways, Curved mirrored vanity at foot of banquette (fixed seating) storage under, with en-suite head. Newer cushions of white with blue French stripes.  Wall hanging louvered cabinet centerline aft overhead master berth.

Prism lighting, overhead lighting and port light in master head with three mirrors.   One larger full length wall mirror, one vanity mirror over counter cabinet and a swing arm magnifying mirror. Stainless steel sink, towel rack over sink cabinetry & under sink louvered with shelving above. This is a dry head with a large shower with towel hooks.  The shower currently holds a washer the dryer is forward.  16 Gallon Hot water tank

Beautifully finished forward accommodations with 6 vented lockers and one lower hanging locker.  (headroom of 6" 4") Bright overhead hatch, teak batten walls trimmed with white head liner.  Cushions are newer with white and blue accents (French stripes).  Wall light and shelving near cabin entry and storage under bunk.  Teak and holly sole, overhead lighting and filler cushion that makes the forward into a queen.  Privacy door insulating quarters form solon.

Spacious head with port light and overhead lighting, teak grab handle, mirrors on upper cabinets, under stainless sink cabinet louvered door and wall storage behind head.  Sliding bar shower handheld shower wand. (6-foot headroom) Pocket door, trash receptacle and wall basket. 

Beautiful & spacious Galley with teak & holly sole located in port aft hallway this galley with clean counter space has port lights on both sides. Cabinetry on this vessel is as appealing as it is convenient.  Cutting board louvered doors pullout drawers & galley shelving.  As you prepare meals you have less limited visibility than other galleys. Your ability to see the scenery, communicate with crew and a pass through to cockpit makes her easy and unusual.  Top & Front load refrigerator freezer by Technautics refrigeration with stainless steel latches and hinges keeps provisions well.  Gimbaled stainless oven and stove top out board side, stainless microwave, countertop inboard, stainless icemaker countertop outboard,  overhead prism, 2 portlights over sink one port light over stove top and one on the port hull side.  Ships bell of brass is hung in the galley. Fire extinguisher mounted eye level. 

Vagabond 47 has a small center cockpit that will keep you from getting blooped in high seas.  The helm is centered, captain's chair has a backrest and the enclosure allows for exiting at helm chair.  The sides of the companionway have dash shelves which become suer handy for binoculars, towels or chachka.   Holley Day is a raised aft quarter deck that makes for a comfortable sitting area for outdoor dining or socializing in harbor at anchor or underway.  Vagabonds have wide side decks which keep days comfortable and sailing less difficult.  With deep bulwarks, surefootedness & dryer toes are all features that add to her popularity as a safe blue water cruiser.  Quarter deck lockers, boom tent for shade and additional deck lockers at the forward mast give you places to relax and places for everything you need while uncluttering decks.  Large cowl vents or dorads are well placed for ventilation.  Granny bars or locker guards are situated port and starboard main mast. Holley Day is rigged to single hand and has a bow thruster that will move your dock neighbor.  Stainless steel stanchions with teak cap rail and lifeline low run full length of the gunwale making deck work smooth.  Four large hatches are midline the deck.   Teak grab rails run alongside the coach roof.  The proud Vagabond V 47 plate in center bow aft of the bollard.  Stainless steel Maxwell windlass is to port side bow hawsepipe on starboard aft of the new bowsprit.  Hood SL Roller Furling Genoa attaches the bowsprit guarded by a massive bow pulpit.  Anchors of stainless travel on a dual roller system.  Main anchor has 130 feet of chain and the secondary has 60 foot of chain.

Nav Table is starboard facing forward, with a double bench seat she has a prism overhead, port light over your shoulder, distribution panel at your one o'clock with DC voltmeter and breaker.  The AC main is located at the nav desk too with AC meter and breakers just aft of the DC panel. VHF Radio & weather station are eye level at the Nav table. The helm is in cockpit center she has a 6-inch Ritchie compass on starboard dash the stainless-steel wheel is flanked by an adjustable nav pod containing the Garmin GPSmap 741xs.  The Garmin has Speed log, depth sounder and radar.  Stereo speakers are forward on dash.  Bow thruster centered with engine controls to the right. Volvo Auxiliary Power at 90 horsepower is located under the companionway with access to engine relatively easy.  Vagabonds are rated to perform with an 80 horsepower, so this range gives you more reserve power. This engine has been well maintained with OEM parts, run at regular intervals & serviced as recommended.  New injectors 2022 She is a four-cylinder diesel with mechanical lever and cable controls. Engine is supported on adjustable mounts bolted to stringers, prop shaft has been aligned and packing gland replaced as well as the stuffing box.  Holley Day has a 1 1/4 stainless steel shaft running to a three bladed feathering auto prop.  2024 new start batteries.
